Writing in 2022, and forward
Dec. 28th, 2022 08:44 amI am not attempting any sort of fic retrospective for this past year, because sadly, I probably posted much less fic than I have in years past.
Which is not to say that I didn't write any! During NaNoWriMo, I managed about 13,000 words of the project that I'd already started calling the Hypnotists AU, explained in more detail over on my Tumblr. Although this project has felt at times like a tug-of-war between the two texts that inspired it, during which I could only gesture at what makes either of them awesome, I do plan to continue writing (perhaps with a wordcount challenge for January) and hope that the AU will take on its own identity as I revise, edit, and explore it further.
Also, if you think I'm going to abandon an opportunity to reimagine the villain of TMA as a Creepy Mentor to a bunch of super-powered teens, you are mistaken, my friends.
So, here are the stories that I hope to work on in 2023, in no particular order:
•the aforementioned Hypnotists AU
•edits to a Stranger Things fic focusing on Eleven
•a Dracula fic that, unsurprisingly to most people, also focuses on hypnotism
•figuring out what to do with my long-languishing X-Men: Evolution WIP (more on that in a separate entry)
•probably more Magnusquerade stories
